Official information and services from the U.S. government
1. Federal employment has been frozen at current levels for those departments deemed necessary to remain open during this time of crisis. Until the state of emergency is suspended no more applications are being accepted. No additional employment exams are being administered at this time as well.
Note: Those candidates who have submitted an application prior to recent events are still under consideration for any vacancies that may occur in this period. If a critical position in your field of interest should become available you will be contacted by the appropriate agency.
2. State employment has been frozen in most cases due to budget shortfalls and reduction in need (where the number of population has decreased significantly enough to require fewer state employees to service that state's citizens). For individual state employment status please contact your state's Office of Personnel and Management.
3. Local employment opportunities may exist that are not administered at the Federal level. To inquire about such opportunities please go to your local DCT office or contact your state's regional DCT Clearinghouse.
4. Military services have experienced a decline in enlistment due to large numbers of personnel lost during Disappearance Day and a subsequent rash of desertions in the following months. All recruiting offices of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines remain open and are ready to answer any questions.
5. Volunteer jobs do exist for local observers, neighborhood search and recovery teams and asset rehabilitation operations.
